The team you'll be part of


Our Mobile Networks Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

You will be part of our Digital Front End (DFE) ASIC team where more than 170 professionals are working on Nokia ReefShark family of System-on-Chips (SoC): ReefShark | Nokia Networks


We are responsible of custom silicon which is a key element in our strategy to gain technology leadership in 5G networks. We are working with state-of-the art tools and have access to latest silicon technologies. Our team is diverse with 13 different nationalities represented. Working language is English.


What you will learn and contribute to


Depending on your work experience and profile, you can work as an individual contributor or as a modeling lead. In the lead position you should have the motivation and skills to lead, support, teach and coach less experienced engineers. As a lead, you should also possess good planning skills and overall understanding of RTL design and verification. Depending on your background and professional ambition, you will work in IP, sub-system or TOP level modeling. Role, compensation and job grade will be tailored to your experience and competence.


You are ready to share your knowledge and skills with the people you work with. You are a team player but can also work independently. You communicate well in a multi-cultural team in English. You will contribute to our Digital Front-End (DFE) subsystem as reference modeling specialist. You will be part of our multi-cultural System-on-Chip (SoC) Development Unit and will have the support of your team members. You are ready to share your knowledge and skills with the people you work with. You are a team player but can also work independently. You communicate well in a multi-cultural team in English.

  • Create a reference model based on architecture model
  • Contribute to design optimisation
  • Provide reference model and data for RTL design and verification
  • Contribute to verification environment, test cases and debugging
  • Write modeling documentation and participate in documentation reviews
  • Continuously improve tools, methods and processes
  • Participate in a culture of learning, innovation and renewal

Your skills and experience


You have:


  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years of working experience in algorithm, SW or RTL design
  • Good understanding and desire to understand thoroughly digital signal processing and related mathematics
  • Experience in 5G DFE algorithm development, fixed-point modeling and fixed-point performance verification
  • Experience in C/C++, VHDL or Verilog coding languages
  • Experience in using standard algorithms, RTL design and verification tools and methods such as Matlab, Simulink, VCS, Spyglass, DC Compiler, Questa, Verdi, Power Artist, UVM, HLS
  • Good working attitude and cooperation skills in a multicultural team
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
